religion + politics = fail

Connecting religious fanaticism with politics is absurd. To me, it seems like lots of the 'extreme right wing' US politicians are using a form of  religious fanaticism tied to their political agenda that is similar to what the Taliban are using in the far East. Anyone that doesn't have 'faith' is doing something wrong they try to make us believe. They're brainwashing regular citizens to think that because of their religous beliefs, that they should be elected based on that, nothing to do with what they are actually going to do to help the country/unemployed/laid off people who NEED the help. The sad thing is that lots of citizens are so dumb and brainswashed that they are buying into it (I blame it on a lack of a well rounded education and exposure to outside society - very similar to what is happening in the Middle East regions)

Religion and governing a country are 2 completely seperate things that shouldn't be used together - and history shows that it always proved to be a fatal combination costings countless deaths. Myths shouldn't account for murder, ever. Progressive politics should be solely to improve : education, health, and employment : the 3 fundamental attributes that will improve a country. The sad thing is that most politicians these days seems to only care about money and power rather than helping the well being of a normal citizen.
